Autumn Memories...

Well November is in full swing. Autumn is coming to a close. The leaves that once provided us shade from Summers Hot Sun are all on the earths floor. I love the bare trees, it allows me too see things that in the Summer are hidden by a mass of green. I can tell winter is just around the corner as the days are shorter and the nights longer, and I awake to frigid morning temps with a splash of frost. Brrrr

I have so much to be Thankful for! A Family that I adore, the other day we all spent time together, the kids riding their bikes and Charlie and I on roller blades, as we ventured to the Wetlands and watched the ducks frolic in the pond. It was nice to slow down and look at nature's beauty!

Also November brought Tallyscrappers Beautiful kit.. It is a Fall lovers Dream with deep reds, browns and warm tones. This kit is just awesome and here are 3 LO's that I created with it.

Well into FALL

Well the leaves are changing right in front of my eyes! It's a sea of Red,Orange,yellow and Brown! I so Love the all the warm vibrant colors of the Season! Last week I took the kids to the CIder Mill/Pumpkin Patch. We had a blast spending the day with each other. After we got I our pumpkins we walked through the Apple Orchard and than through the corn maize, than came home and had Pot Roast and pumpkin donuts and cider:)

Croppin Time

Yesterday I went to an ALL day crop here in town. It was soo much fun! I was kinda nervous at first, because the only person I knew was the Woman hosting it and it was Full,50 ladies altogether! I was seated with 3 of the nicest ladies ever! By the time I left the crop... 12 and half hours later I had all 3 of their phone numbers, we hugged and promised to keep in touch and a friendship was formed! So cool how that happens! SO I used my Tallscrapper ***OCT KIT*** while at the crop, I made this cute little Card/Invitation with the help and Inspiration of Staci French! She makes some Killer cute cards:) I also made the first 2 LO's, Julie helped me pick out the title on the "My Lil Pumpkin" LO. It's like I knew these ladies all my Life! Good time:)

Summer is going by way too fast! I have been soooo busy at work with a brand new line that unveils in San Francisco the 2nd week in August and traveling up North to the Cottage and Birthday's! Ugh... Leaving again this weekend for Asheville,NC to the Cottage in the Mountains! YAY... I am do for a week of R&R....

Well I am behind on this blogging thing that's for sure! We are down with the sickness here! LOL

So... I haven't had much time to scrap in the last few weeks! I made a few cards for some Birthday girls that I adore! And I made one LO for a challenge over at Tallyscrapper that I barely made the deadline.

The Weather is screwy here!! One day it's cold and snowy, the next it's warm & Sunny... I prefer the latter! I am ready for Spring:) Well February is almost over and March will be here soon! Bringing with it the Birds and the Awesome Flowers!

Well my Dh went up North to go Snowmobiling till Monday:), My DD is also up North at her BFF's till tomorrow. That leaves me and my DS:) we are going to see Inkheart. Ok... SO first things first....

I had lab work done last week and an Ultrasound about 2 hours ago. I still know absolutely nothing about the problem at hand:) It's been an emotional roller coaster the past few weeks! Darn Hormones:) LOL I have a follow-up Doctor's Appointment a week from today, where I will be hoping to get some Answers!

I am thinking it could be Thyroid disease. My Mother has it and it is Hereditary. So that is my first thought. However I don't have a little stethescope, MD license and I for sure Don't make the Salary!! So I cannot exactly evaluate my condition until I have all the facts:)

onto Hubby.. well in the same place as me! WE KNOW NOTHING!!LOL

and now.... onto some Fun stuff!!! I received my last Crop Suey kit in the mail:(

I am sooo sad that my Term ends this month! It has been a fun trip and experience with this *NEW* kit club that I had the Honor of being on the Very first DT! I have good vibes that they will be a Household name in the Scrapping world in No time:)

Tough week here.....

Hubby and I have been in and out of the Doctors all week! Both of us with different issues. We both have had lab work done and ultrasounds! Not leaving allot of time for Scrapping or blogging! Hopefully I will have mine figured out soon:) I could be going through menopause (at 36...UGH!!!) or have a Thyroid Disorder or a uterine polyp. But until the results are in I won't know. I am so exhausted. Whatever it is, it is draining me physically! The Irony of this is kinda funny to me. (we are both having unrelated issues in the same region... Could they be related??? LOL) Good thing it hasn't drained my Humor.

Hubby has an appointment end of this week.

Say lots of prayers for us Both:)

And I will give you the DL when I find out more!

So the Jan Kit over at TallyScrapper made it's release a few day's ago! I am excited about this one! My first LO's as a DT member too boot:) It has a little bit of everything, and it played right up to the old photo's I have from my father's childhood too:) Come check it out!

Again it's been another busy week for me, at work and at home! We go National with our new Spring Designs in 2 weeks in Baltimore. And I am still trying to clean up 08! LOL

New Year...New Me:)

Well it's a New year! And I have a few things too share:)

First, Last month I tried out for another DT. Well and I made it! YAY:)

SO... I am officially a Designer for www.tallyscrapper.com

Come and check us out! This scrapbooking site has by far one of the Best tight knit communities of Lovely gals! I have donned it my 2nd home:)

Secondly, I am still on the DT over at the Amazing www.shopcropsuey.com

My 1st Home:) And this month we have our first ever GDT. Luciane Folch:) Her work is sooo Inspiring! She is an out of the Box scrapper and one that I admire completely!!!!

And her papers that she designed are in the January kit! The kit is by far one of the Best that CropSuey has put out since their Debut in September!

I created this LO for the New year! It marks my Goals of 2009, and Scrappy things I want too keep implementing in my Scrap Design.

I am also in the process of updating my Blog! I am in need of a new Banner and Header! It worked when I started Bloggin in the Summer. However now, I am almost embarrassed at how bad it looks! It's kinda of Dull and Boring.... I am far new to this whole Blog thing, and have not had much luck trying to Come up with what Direction I want to go! I have made an attempt with Scrapblog, alas No Luck there! So if you any ideas to help me through this process. I would Love to hear them:)

Girls on the Run!

Kaci and 500 other Local 3-5 grade girls took part in a 5K run last Saturday. She has been training since early september for this race. It had been in the mid 70's all week! Well Friday night a cold front came through! Of course:). It started out pretty cold but Sunny and then got yucky!!! lol She braved and couraged through the 30- 40 degree temps and the rain and ran a good first race! I am so proud of her! And she had so much fun doing it too. I even dragged my sick butt out of bed to watch her cross the finish line in the top 30%. Not to bad I must say. I thought she would end up walking most of it!

I must say, this week has been a week of great emotions for me!!!! America the land of the Free elected our 44th President on Tuesday! The first African American ever, by the name of Barack Obama. I can only hope he can restore America's Image and Bring Peace too many Lands across this great Earth! I stumbled across this video clip from another scrapper. And Oh my if it does not give me Hope for a Better future for this great Country which is killing itself from within! So I leave you with this Poem that had me in tears and wishing this is how America was meant to and truly can be:)

Well... It has been a Year! A year since My Father Passed away... I have managed too make it through this Day with lots of sorrow and Happiness. It was a tough day for me! Yesterday was even tougher though. Most of you don't know but my Father called me on Halloween Eve for some reason and I too engrossed in carving Pumpkins with the kids, decided not to answer my phone. I said Oh I will call tomorrow. Of course I thought really hard about that decision for many moments, And it is one that I have lived to regret to this day! See my Father never called me, ever. My Mother called me daily, but Father not so much. And I as I declined to take that phone call, I never got the chance to make it the next day. He died of a massive heart attack at 5:30-8:30 in the morning on Halloween Day. I don't know why I am disclosing this on my blog today. Maybe the too many glasses of wine I had. But.. for whatever the reason I felt the need to get that out. It leaves me in a tough position, on trying to savor the moment, well which moment should I savor? I usually always answer my phone, but decided anything could wait because I was having quality time with my children, when I could of had that one last phone call with my Dad. Don't feel sad for me, I am OK! I have realized I cannot change that night even today as I have tried so many times. I had a wonderful time tonight with the kids taking them trick or treating, something I haven't done in 5 years. It was an amazing time for us:)

ShopcropSuey October Kit!

Shopcropsuey DT for the October "Want Smore" kit.

These pics are the very first photos of my Hubby and I together, Dating for about 2 months. I love these photos so much! This quaint little town in the Northern part of the Lower Pennisula on Lake Michigan. Leland, MI the photos are of Fishtown. It reminds me of the 80's movie popeye. It is here that I met my future in laws and that my Hubby and I officially became BF & GF! LOL

He secretly purchased a cute little ring at one of the gift shops in town. As he was opening the car door for me, umbrella in hand pooring down rain he got down on one knee and asked me too be his Girlfriend. It was sooo cute! I will always remember that:)

MY soon to be SIL calls me a few months back and tells me she came across this photo of My DH & I. I vaguely remember it even being taken. It's one of the BEST photos of the 2 of us. I take it and blow it up into a 5x7 and place it on Hubbys desk in our home office. He notices it and laughs. He then proceeds to ask me if I know the story behind the pic, which I told him I had no clue what he was talking about. He says. I planned this day perfectly from the Waterfall behind us to us sitting on this log and had my brother take this photo because I had every intention of asking you too marry me. However after all the planning it just didn't seem right. So he waited 2 more days and made his proposal in a less planned way. lol

I am Obsessed with a Vampire!

Ok so WOW I have been so engrossed in this Book series the past week and a half I have been in a world all of my own. So completely lost in these books! as the real world passed me by. I am So sad that I finished the last book late last night:( unable too sleep even after I tried! I had to to finish this Book. it had my blood flowing for the end result! LOL These Books Drove me absolutely crazy for over a week!!! I cannot say I have ever been so enthralled in a Book! Not to mention that I was in completely in Love with the Vampire myself! LMAO

I cried when he first broke up with her, for an entire

day and it flared up my allergies that my Boss sent me home from work! I was so excited, that meant I got to spend the day reading the whole Book in bed! Which I did. I read the last 3 books each in just over a day! Who does that??

I am so glad Kristina suggested this series! I would not have ever picked it to read!

I am so completely in LOVE with Edward! (sorry Honey)

I feel so sad that I still want more! More of that Damn Edward, it's so silly to me! I suppose maybe I just want a Romance like Edward & Bella's. Quite magical to say the least!

It's such a rainy day here! Perfect to curl up in my favorite chair and read a book:( Anyone have any other great Book ideas??? LOL

I suppose after not scrapping for 3 weeks I would be anxious too. However NO! I want another Romance story:):)

I am now awaiting the Movie that will be released in late November! I don't think I can wait that long! LOL

Ok, so Where have I been you ask??? Yeah I know I have not posted in awhile! And I told you I would explain why! Well Here it is:)

TA DA.... Nearly 2 weeks and 80+ hours later. Yes I refinished my new scrapbook Table, It has so much more space and little cubbies to hide things! I purged for 2 days! Just too fit it all in my new Spot...I didn't realize nearly have of what I had:) And I have no desire too scrap now! I think I will hold out until my Crop Suey kit comes:):):):) I am Completely exhausted. Maybe it was all those fumes! LOL Anyway I am glad to be done. And well I threw my back out in the process:( I feel better now I spent the entire weekend wrapped in a blanket endless reading.

On my Little cropping Trip last week to Chicago. Traci & I went thrift shopping! I picked up this chair for *FREE* yeah that's right I said Free! Right next to a side table but didn't like the pic. *I felt so much like I was stealing*, looking around to see if anyone was watching. Traci reassured me that is how it is done in Chicago! LOLIt was such a good day! We found a box of 1930 Vanity fair, we split them of course. I also picked up a box of old sheet music. And I got that metal filing cabinet that actually has slots on the top. perfect for scrapbook embellishment organization!!!! It was a good day and a great time. Of course this pales in comparison to all the things I got over the weekend! And how could I have forgot to mention my yellow gingham vintage apron. Oh and look your way KristinaK for a little pkg in the next few weeks. I even found you a little something;) Till next time:):)

SIS Crop in Chicago.....

I just rolled in from Chicago late last night. And must I tell you, I had the best time! I went out there for 2 reasons.

1) to a crop at the Fabulous Craft Fancy to crop with all of the IL girls.

and...

2) The Craft Expo in Evanston where we had a show.

And to do a little Thrift Shopping/Garage sales with my girl Traci K. That girl is serious about her Garage sales! LOL

But might I add we made out like Bandits! And we we got some really good finds! I will take pictures of the items later today.

I had the best time while in Chicago! I have to laugh about my drive home though! I took 94 out of the city and was looking to take 90E to Indiana. Well apparently I missed that exit or so I thought I never even see it. Well I ended up getting out with no real problems. UNTIL..I realized it was not the way I came into the city. So I turned around not even thinking Duh it's 94 to Detroit I can get home from that way!!! So I turned around and noticed I needed gas, no problem I found an exit (78Th street) got off and got gas. HA!!! Was that a bad idea! Everyone I noticed walking on the street was packing (yeah carrying guns!). I suppose I am not used to seeing that! The city is Big and overwhelming. But I love it so much. I did never find 90 Sky way, and still ended up taking 94E to the Indiana toll road. It took me 2 hours to get out of the city!!LOL after that little error judgement! Sox game, Marathon Downtown and 2 traffic accidents made my drive a little longer!!! Traci I am so investing in GPS now!!!!! The Best part of my trip with the exception of my thrift finds oh and the visit to the Church where 16 Candles was filmed, was the trip South into Evanston on Sheridan. Can I just say WOWZA!!!!! I am quite sickened by the fact I do not own one of these 10 Million $$$$ homes on Lake MI.....So I am looking for a new job today, because Traci and I did not win the lotto and I need to make some $$$ to buy me one of these homes! LMAO

Recycle!!!! Please

I did these 2 LO's way back in June.. And well I can post them now! YAY

They are LO's with 80% Recycled goods. Yup one is from items within the home and the second is items within the Garage. I have been recycling for about 3-4 years now. My daughter came home from school and said "Mommy, we need to take a stand today and Recycle for the children of tomorrow, and for a cleaner Earth. Or when I get to be your age...Old, I will not have much of a future." Now mind you I couldn't argue with a 5 year old about that! So we started Recycling:):)

Ok new LO for OLW... The Word "Faith".....

This is a hard word for me! My Mother and went to bereavment counseling last night and we were given a handout with a prayer on it... This Prayer had me moved for the first time ever. I have heard it like 100x in the past, but never fully got anything out of it. Today however it was almost like a light clicked on:) The prayer:

"God Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Ahhh yes, the serenity prayer... I enjoyed creating this LO. I love what it stands for! Yeah I have FAITH!

I did this LO for TAIF...The prompt was to use a sewing pattern. Hence the little girl in blue:) this is another pic of my dd from May. I really Like how this one Turned out! So Bright, Gotta love that KI Memories Bloom Collection! Those flowers are Awesome (the whole reason I bought it! lol) And I love those JBS Bingo cards! They now come in Black and Red.

Leaving a Legacy

Well I just got back from Grandma's Memorial Service in Durham,NC. It was a Beautiful Service. I learned so many Amazing and Inspiring things about Hubby's Beloved Grandmother. Quite an accomplished Woman:)

So many Beautiful things said about her. She definitely will be Missed by Durham's Art crowd. I did not know that she had her own office in Page Auditorium right next door to the chapel, I also did not know that in the Lobby on both sides hang two very Massive Abstract Oil Paintings, Which were painted by Hubby's cousin Ethel Gilmour. And several hang in her home as well. I also did not know that she won the highest award in North Carolina for Artists. Simply Amazing! So it was more Educational and Inspiring than anything for me. Ella Fountain Keesler Pratt Has gone home to Rest with Lanier and God! She passed away on July 28, She was my Husband's Grandmother and we will miss her Dearly! She was a Beautiful Vibrant soul! Her Spirit lives on in us and She is smiling down on us right now. This Woman I called Fount was simply Amazing! She had a special place for me in her Heart and I cherished our relationship! She was the classiest Southern Lady I have ever met! Her Life on Earth was nothing short of Amazing! She Directed the office Cultural Affairs at Duke University for over 25 years! And has had her hand in the Arts in North Carolina for over 40 Years! She has Forever touched me in so many ways and continues to Inspire me on the Daily:) I Love you Fount!

61st Annual Ausable River Canoe Marathon

Ok so Saturday I spent the day up North and made a visit to Grayling, MI for the start of the 61st Annual Ausable International Canoe Race. WOW was this just Chaotic! Seriously!!! Imagine 77 Canoes and 154 people running mad down the streets of Grayling towards the River! Only to canoe for 14+ long Hours to the finish! This was my first appearance and I must say I was kind of apprehensive about even going. My MIL has gone for several years and has tried to get me to go, Alas I made it! And I must say it was quite exciting! Before her I had never heard of it. Let me tell you, to the small town of Grayling, MI. this is a very huge deal! Canoers from all over the country come to this town to race the river wild! Locals get here early to get a spot to watch the Madness unfold. I will definitely be returning next year:)

Asheville Vacation

So I got back today from the Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. I miss that Mountain air! Had a great time Hiking and just chillaxing on the wrap around porch watching the rain and the hummingbirds, like I do every year:)

It is the one true place where I feel at peace! No Tv, no radio, no hustle and bustle to get anywhere. We saw a Bear walking casually down the street mid afternoon one day! It gave me a new outlook on Nature and how precious it is.

This year my BIL got married up in the Mountains. It was Amazing! His Fiance couldn't of been a more Beautiful Bride:).. It was a busy week let me tell you, I was the Maid of Honor so my duties were plenty!!! However I am glad it is over. The kids enjoyed there camps in Montreat and dd made 2 new friends!

We also made our annual vist to Devils Courthouse offers spectacular views of the Smokey Mountains and Graveyard falls offers one of the most Beautiful Waterfalls with a perfect swimming hole at the bottom. It truly is a Family favorite! Both on the Blue Ridge Pkwy.

I got my new camera just before I left so I was able to take some really great shots while there:), Please enjoy:):):)

I saw this Movie this week!! And Oh my was it Hilarious!! I love kid Movies with Adult Humor! I didn't think I would like it. But afterwards for almost an hour my kids and I played what was you favorite scene. And I must say that was one of the Greatest moments for me:):):)

Handmade Chipboard Buttons!

I went to a SIS Crop on Saturday June 7th in Grand Rapids and I sat there all day making these little babies!!!:P, There is a tutorial at SIStv.com or you can follow these instructions!! Who ever came up with this idea is Genius!!!!:):):)Not hard at all. All you need is:

Chipboard

Scrap paper

Circle Punch

1/4 inch hole punch

Diamond Glaze

Take your chipboard and use your punch and make your circles (*hint* Bazill makes some precut ones 50 for $1.99)

than you take your paper scraps and use the same punch to make those. once you have all 50 punched you use your adhesive and adhere them together. Once dry on the opposite side (the chipboard side) take your hole punch and punch 2 holes close together. Then take your Diamond Glaze and cover the button Completely! Once Dry Whoa-la.... you now have a shiny Cool Button!!!
